Project Highlights
My role as a propulsion engineer was to design the engines for a launch system capable of deploying 100 kg satellites to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at Aeonian company (no longer active.)
For the engine design, we opted for a bi-propellant engine with a pintle injector. After rigorous calculations and trade studies, I designed the engine following DFX best practices and handed over the design and engineering drawings to the machinist.
At the first attempt, hot fire testing was successful!
The engine achieved a remarkable 6-second hot fire duration, producing 10.2 kN (2300 lbf) of thrust at 270 seconds specific impulse (Isp), a testament to teamwork.
Special thanks to Pete Giannola’s support in this journey.
